Problém with widgets
-
about a week ago the problems started with the widgets, now they don't update, reinstalling didn't help
-
Same here on a pixel 8 pro on Android 14. The widgets were working fine, then stopped updating several days ago.
I deleted the app, rebooted the phone, reinstalled the app and gave it unrestricted battery access and notifications. I recreated the widgets and they remain blank. This is using windy premium.

@Pavel-Třebín @speedlever Could be possible to check your device, if there is any optimization software there, which could affect the battery usage or updates in the background. This kind of SW can affect our widgets behavior.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera I gave the app unrestricted battery. The widgets were running fine for several weeks and then quit updating for some reason. No idea why.
-
@speedlever Could you please try to delete data and cache of the app? The way to this should be Settings --> Apps --> Windy --> Storage.
-
@Ondřej-Šutera sure. Standby.

@Ondřej-Šutera
Ok, I deleted the cache and data of the app, then uninstalled the app. I got a fresh copy of the app and installed it. It still shows me signed into premium and remembered most of my custom settings.Widgets are still blank. 🤷♂️

@Suty Similar problem, I cleared the cache, it didn't help, uninstalled the app and reinstalled, it also didn't help, the battery or network optimization is turned off and the widgets are blank
-
@Pavel-Třebín Do you use Android 14? If you do, we have already worked on this issue and hopefully it will be solved soon.
-
@Suty MIUI 14, Android 13
-
@Pavel-Třebín Can you please check that battery optimization once again? MIUI has its own battery and performance optimization apps that can affect this.

Try logging off and logging back into the app and see if that fixes the widgets.
I've noticed some weird behavior of the app when my widgets quit working. I can delete cache and data and the app, reinstall the app and find I'm still somehow logged in and the widgets don't work.
Tonight I did another cache and data delete, then recreated the widgets and they began working. I noticed I was no longer logged into the app. So I'm wondering if perhaps this is a profile issue.
Next time my widgets quit working I'm going to try logging off and logging in and see if that fixes it
