Or are you assuming that this wind is the one predicted at ground surface?

To switch back to the ground level wind speed you need to tap the red button in the bottom right, then scroll down until you see the “Altitude” slider and then drag it to the left to get the Surface reading. -

Windy does NOT show the current wind at your location. Windy shows the FORECAST by a weather model. And there are several models available in Windy. Have you checked all of them ?
