Hello Windy team,
I would like to request the review and public listing of my plugin, Pronóstico de Viento Zonda (Harrison Abacus).
The crossing of the central Andes is sometimes regarded as the most turbulent air route in the world. For several decades, we have been using the Harrison Abacus as a predictor of mountain- wave activity and possible turbulence. I developed this plugin to automate the Harrison Abacus calculation within Windy and to integrate it with additional meteorological tools that can help simplify the analysis of conditions across the Andes.
Plugin details:
- Plugin ID:
windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison - Version: 1.0.1
- Repository: https://github.com/fcoramos/windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison
- Uploaded build: https://windy-plugins.com/6304711/windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison/1.0.1/plugin.min.js
- Author: Francisco J. Ramos Francés
- Region: Santiago (SCEL/SCL) – Mendoza (SAME/MDZ), Central Andes
The plugin provides:
- A Harrison Abacus diagnosis for mountain-wave and Zonda-wind conditions, using the SCEL–SAME QNH difference and the 500 hPa cross-barrier wind.
- An ECMWF vertical cross-section between Santiago and Mendoza, reversible in either direction, with terrain, clouds, precipitation, an icing proxy, turbulence diagnostics, freezing level, tropopause, and Scorer-parameter trapping guidance.
- Route waypoints and SCL/MDZ airport markers, with automatic map framing.
- A link to an Ogimet GRAMET up to FL250.
- Spanish and English interfaces.
It is intended as a meteorological decision-support and educational tool. Its limitations are stated clearly, and it is not presented as an official forecast or as a source for operational navigation.
Version 1.0.1 has been uploaded through the Windy Plugins API with the private flag removed. The repository includes automated type checking, tests, build validation, and a GitHub Actions publishing workflow.
I would appreciate your review and any feedback or changes required.
Thank you,
Francisco J. Ramos Francés - Plugin ID:

Hi,
I have updated my plugin and would like to request that the public version be updated to 1.0.2.
Plugin details:
- Name:
windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison - Title: Pronóstico de Viento Zonda (Harrison Abacus)
- New version: 1.0.2
- Uploaded build: https://windy-plugins.com/6304711/windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison/1.0.2/plugin.min.js
- Repository: https://github.com/fcoramos/windy-plugin-abaco-de-harrison
Main changes in this release are:
- Responsive layouts for phones and iPads in portrait and landscape orientations.
- New minimize, restore, and close controls so the map remains accessible on tablets.
- Improved vertical-profile legend: diagonal precipitation bars and dotted icing areas.
- Clipping of vertical-profile layers to prevent icing graphics from extending outside the chart.
- Improved mobile sizing for charts, tables, labels, and legends.
- Added the contact email and plugin version to the footer and repository metadata.
The package was tested and uploaded successfully through the Windy Plugins API.
Thank you,
