<![CDATA[How to turn OFF "forecasted radar?"]]>A few days ago, my Windy started to show a progress bar for "forecasted" radar, following the current radar progression - but the display STARTS with the current time and moves to the "future," and I have to actually click on the beginning of the progress bar to get it to show the radar from 1 hour ago to the current time.

How can I get it to default to START at one hour ago?

This "forecasting" radar was developed just to please people who were crying about not having it because they were convinced that radar is a forecasting tool. Some people ask for 3 hours or 1 day of this extrapolation !

It's obvious that it simply extrapolates the current conditions and movement speed. As we know precipitation, especially thunder showers, morph into areas of greater or lesser intensity, sometimes very quickly and unpredictably. So there's that.
The satellite forecast could be improved if cloud altitudes were taken into account. I've observed where high clouds were moving much faster than low clouds. The forecast satellite seems to extrapolate areas rather than altitudes- causes an inaccuracy.

Is there a way to turn off that future radar completely (on the web) ?

However, you can use 6 hours, if only 1h of data is not enough.

They are still there. Radar layer has always only default layer.
