@ivky Please try it once again, it should work.

I don't want to say that this is not our problem, but before we start to investigate the potential issue on our end, I would like you to check this article, since the big problem of Android is its diversity in used SW on these devices. Many softwares above the Android affect the battery and performance optimization.

@Suty I have similar issues on Samsung S22 (with latest software). Widget seems to be broken, fails to update. I noticed that by unusual battery drain past days. When I delete widget, cleared caches etc... nothing helps. Hints you're providing aren't helpful.

I have the same issue on Pixel 6a with full permissions given. The app never refreshes, just a pinwheel. Huge battery drain unless I delete the widgets and restrict battery. Been this way for months. New release doesn't seem to have made a difference. Guess I will try to delete cache again.

And it seems issue is caused by update downloaded from PlayStore in past 4 days. Before, windy used less than 1% battery, last days consumes ~18%...

@ThatFrickinGuy Clearing cache did not work. I had to fully delete all the app storage on the device and replace the widgets. I'll update if a later refresh doesn't work. For now a forced refresh does work.

I already forwarded your experience to our Android developer, if there is anything new, I will keep you posted.

@Suty Thank you. Hopefully, the next update will solve it. Otherwise, I'll just cancel a subscription. This basic functionality should be really no brainer to fix, unless there is some core issue with app.

Yesterday I fully uninstalled and reinstalled Windy application (so all stored data were deleted, not only the cache; performed new widget setup etc).
After this, sync and battery drain issues disappeared...

It seems something stored in data from previous versions caused mentioned issues with the widget.

                      @Suty Android 14 One UI 6 here.

After last update GPS location radar, satelite, and days forecast + three favorites detail widgets all went into perpetual update mode. They would show 4 hour old content and Windy went into 25% battery use over 6 hours.

Removed all widgets, reinstalled them and the only difference was radar and satellite were big black boxes.

Went to app info - storage and cleared data and cache, uninstalled Windy app.
                      Reinstalled everything and tested.
                      All good now

@Suty after some time it did.
Back to perpetual update on all widgets and excessive battery drain.

Radar animation isn't working in app either.

@MilkoOk Hi. Can you please your widget setup with screenshots? Any information if it is current location, favorite or custom location would help. Screenshot from permission settings would also help. Thank you.

@MarkNagy problem seems to be triggered when I automatically switch from mobile data to WiFi on VPN where server has some messed up location and my widgets are set to GPS location.

As soon as I get off WiFi problem is gone.
I'm just not sure if this is a coincidence or there is something that changed with latest update as previously WiFi wasn't a problem.

@MilkoOk Thanks for the reply. It is a bit strange use case. Widgets were not changed in the latest update, that is why I am curious.
