@pescados i wouldnt worry, i get the full monty at my location on the south coast of uk, but any data more than a day in advance is useless.
ive been trying to plan my expected sailing route for the last month, the day arrives and its totally different wind speed and direction than as predicted 3 days ago.
i first planned on the 7th then the 22nd, and finally tomorrow the 29th.
tomorrow is already cancelled.its not exactly reliable to any useful degree, i can stick my head out the boat and find what the current weather is, i dont need an app for that.

How can your story be useful to this user who simply wants to get radar data for his island. A weather radar does not predict the weather a day in advance.
By the way why do professional sailors rely in weather forecast when planning a passage. -

That is not true. The weather radar on Madeira was working perfectly well for years. Windy stopped showing the data some time in November/December last year and it is dead since then.
Due to pretty unpredictable and varying weather on the island, the radar plus satellite imagery are/were very useful. I keep my fingers crossed for radar data to be available again.

The question is whether weather radar data is still available on Madeira? Windy does not own the radar installation. So if you live on this island, can you confirm that this radar built in 2018 is still in service ?

I don't live on the island, I know Windy does not own radars, I have no idea if the radar on the island is functional. I just wrote that Windy used to present data from the Madeira radar and now it does not. I have no idea where the problem is, but I miss the feature.

Yes, but what about Madeira ?
Terceira is in the Azores archipelago and IPMA radar pictures does not show or mention a radar on Madeira island. -

@idefix37 Today's update: the radar is back in operation after few months of outage. I hope Windy will present data from it soon.

Thanks. My guess was correct. It is a bit surprising that IPMA did not mention the radar outage or I did not see it.
