Wind direction in alert opposite that of forecast
-
I set an alert for Easterly and North Easterly winds at a location, and set the wind speed.
I've received an alert, so checked the full forecast and see that the wind is Westerly, not Easterly.

@WillGough Hi, you pick the direction where the wind is blowing to, not from which direction. So this should be correct in both screenshots.

@Suty
Hi, I never tried to set an alert with wind direction conditions.
Usually an East wind is blowing from the East to the West, with arrows on a weather map pointing to the West.
According to your explanation when selecting East in the alert setting, that means you select wind blowing to the East ? -
@idefix37 I will test the behavior to be sure about this and let you know.

I just made a test at one of my favorite locations.
In the Alert setting, I set the wind direction to SW and saved. I got an alert for more than 28 knots shown by the small bell in the forecast panel.Then I changed the wind direction to NE and saved. With this setting I got no bell in the forecast panel.
So for me the behaviour of the Alert settings is correct and consistent.
I don’t know why @WillGough got an alert for an opposite wind. (May be a new setting but not saved ? )By the way, changing the colour of these small bells to deep red instead of a very pale red would be really useful ! They are so hard to see
