Hi! I use windy often and, recently, I started to modifying map color scales. I like the new colours!

But now, I would like to remove the transition between colors of the scale. Is it possible?

      I'll be waiting! Thanks! :)

        Hi,
This is possible if you design your color scale according to this diagram :

        0B65F308-3375-49AF-8D73-6ED19946A815.jpeg

Example with a small smoothed transition between colors on customized scale for Wind

        3F6282E2-7E6F-4A48-96F6-DB215B8AA60F.jpeg

Example with almost no transition between colors on customized color scale for Relative humidity

        56D3DB92-052F-419F-9278-0CAA9723DDF6.jpeg

This scheme was applied recently in the new Icing severity layer.

        A498EB59-769E-4AAC-A72C-A84B4A2FEEAE.jpeg

Click on [View Code] to see the detail of its code

Note the color legend still remain smoothed. So you need to design your own legend.

you can get more creative with the color palette and add narrow bands of color as a proxy line to highlight a threshold value - in the above image 'gale force winds'.

@AlexVídeos said in Remove transitions between colors of a scale, pls:

But now, I would like to remove the transition between colors of the scale. Is it possible?

Your question was to know how to remove transitions between the colors steps.
But all your customized scales are smoothed !

@idefix37 Hi! Yes, that was the question. I tried to apply this on my scales, but after many tries, I couldn't eliminate the transitions between colors. Could you help me please?

For example, this is the wind map code.
What could I modify to eliminate the transitions?
                    I'll be waiting! Thanks :)

                          @AlexVídeos

Taking your code but simplified, you don’t need 16 digits after the decimal point

                          [1.38,[35,134,214,255]],
                          [2.78,[51,204,255,255]],
                          [4.17,[11,194,168,255]],

You need to rewrite this code

                          [1.38,[35,134,214,255]],
                          [2.77,[35,134,214,255]],
                          [2.78,[51,204,255,255]],
                          [4.16,[51,204,255,255]],
                          [4.17,[11,194,168,255]],
                          And so on …

                                OK you got it !
Personally I prefer light colors for light winds.
