Remove transitions between colors of a scale, pls

Hi,
This is possible if you design your color scale according to this diagram :Example with a small smoothed transition between colors on customized scale for Wind
Example with almost no transition between colors on customized color scale for Relative humidity
This scheme was applied recently in the new Icing severity layer.
Click on [View Code] to see the detail of its code
Note the color legend still remain smoothed. So you need to design your own legend.

you can get more creative with the color palette and add narrow bands of color as a proxy line to highlight a threshold value - in the above image 'gale force winds'.

Personally I prefer light colors for light winds.
