Thailand/Bangkok radar incorrect
-
Folks, could you PLEASE do something about your Bangkok weather radar? You seem to still be relying on the Hua Hin station for Bangkok (Hua Hin is 180kms SE of Bangkok!), and it is ALWAYS WRONG. If you're going to use the Government stations, please use Nongchok and Nongkhame for Bangkok.
Windy is now too unreliable to be trusted here. Right now, as I write this, you're showing a huge storm from Bangkok to the north (which is coming from the rogue Hua Hin station - it's ghost data visible at https://weather.tmd.go.th/hhn.php), but we're in the middle of a dry season heatwave and there isn't a cloud in the sky! Every other Government weather radar shows clear skies too. (https://weather.tmd.go.th/chn.php)
I hate the idea of being forced to cancel my subscription, but such faulty data isn't worth buying anymore, particularly as I've raised this with you for a number of months.
Thanks - I hope you'll fix it this time.

Hi @Colin-in-BKK, thank you for reporting this.
We are aware of ghost data from Hua Hin and that is why we're using only 115km of its 235km range (so it doesn't reach over Bangkok). This time, ghost data actually came from Sattahip station, see original data:
I will mask its messy data do the north and west so it doesn't clutter the final composite.

@Filip_K Thanks Filip. I don't know if anyone is working right now, but the problem still exists. You're showing storms all around Bangkok but there's nothing. I've looked all all the other Government stations with reach to Bangkok but they're all clear except Hua Hin.
Hua Hin radar is showing storms and it looks like you're still overlaying them on Bangkok. Got a chance to check it now? Cheers.

Hi @Colin-in-BKK, from what I see, it is still problem from Sattahip radar site.
Hua Hin also shows some major interference:
I have temporarily disabled both sites.
I will also try to add both Bangkok radar sites which are currently not being used (Nongchok and Nongkhame). Hopefully during next week. -
@Filip_K Thanks Filip. That would be perfect. Nongchok and Nongkhame are very accurate, though there are occasions where, for some reason only known to them, the Government will switch one of them off for a few days. But if you're combining both we should be fine.
I didn't know there was radar operating at Sattahip. There must also be good aviation radar operating at U-Tapao airport (military, but slated to become another international airport to serve Pattaya), so perhaps that's what's causing the Sattahip problem because they'd be almost on top of each other.

Hi @Colin-in-BKK, both Bangkok radar sites have been integrated and are now part of radar composite
