Hello, it would be very nice to have such a feature because in many applications there's more information in the difference between the average and the actual temperature than in the actual temperature itself.

      Kind regards,

      Alberto

        Hi,
Your request is not very clear. Do you mean that you would like to have a layer predicting what is called "temperature anomaly"? It is the difference between the predicted temperature and the “normal temperature” i.e the average temperature at the same location and at the same date/time of the year for the past 30 years. This is usually done at a weather station or some models provide a similar data.
        For example
        https://charts.ecmwf.int/products/medium-2t-anomaly?base_time=202404050000&projection=opencharts_europe&quantile=50%3A100&reference_field=control&valid_time=202404060000

Try the layer : "extreme forecast".
It shows the deviation of daily temperature (and rain or wind) from normal for a given day.

@idefix37 I do like this layer, maybe Windy will add it?
              ‘2 m temperature deviation / anomaly, last 24 hours’

Hi everybody. What @anthony10 posted is exactly what I ment. The only thing I would suggest that average temperature period could be cusotmized: for example, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years...

If it's possible of course. But the ECMWF chart is exactly what I0m looking for.

                Kind regards,

                Alberto

This would be impossible. As I said above this can be done only at weather stations which record temperature over long period.

The ECMWF provide Anomaly charts (see my link in my previous post) which are based on the comparison of current forecast with their M-climate i.e. a reanalyse over several years.
