      What mean the colour code in the infrared animation?
      What does the “k” refers to?
      Thanks

        @olivier62
        K means Kelvin. These values are the temperature at cloud tops expressed in Kelvin.

        In Settings you can change it for °C or °F. It gives an idea of the altitude of cloud tops using infrared sensors of satellites. The colder the tops are, the higher the clouds stand. When this temperature is very low (with dark red color) it probably means a risk of cumulonimbus which can give strong thunderstorms.
