Why you change the appereance of the menu into icons? I prefer to see the text one on my desktop.
Is it a way to choose and go back?
Also is it a way to move icon or text menu and bring on top the ones I use more?

Hi @Demetris831, we decided to offer similar visual on the desktop, as it is used in our mobile apps to have one common design.

Regarding to prioritizing certain layers, you can pin them to the top with this button, which appears during hovering certain layer:

@Suty i suggest nesting some parameters to their parent parameters like the previous look e.g. low, med, high clouds inside clouds; cape, thunderstorm inside rain, etc that way it's easier to find the parameters you want to view.

Why is it necessary that mobile and desktop version looks the same? different aproaches to different devices, i would say is much better. Please consider to move back to former desktop version. It does fit on mobile but most people here like the classic standard design for desktop i presume. Please consider to offer at least both version to switsch beside. Tat would be user friendly.

RIP Expert Mode and the elegant simplicity.

The reason I have Windy Premium is I detest the way MyRadar does the menu, which is exactly how Windy is now doing it.

I fail to understand the need for the little pretty pictures when they are so similar in some cases, the pictures actually make it MORE confusing to get to what I want. And they take up so much space. It makes no sense. None.

I live in a landlocked area, why must I look at "waves" on my desktop? Is it possible to change the order on desktop?

Why are the fonts so large now? Space is at premium for most of us.

Where are the different forecast models?

Could go on, but the disappointment is real and like others, not sure premium is worth it anymore.

It's a sad day, and right at the start of the busy spring weather season here in Tornado Alley. It's a downgrade, not an update. Bah.

@issyl23 Thank you for your suggestion, I will discuss it with the team. Regarding these groups, you can click on them above the list of layers (Wind, Clouds and aviation, etc.)

@SR-71A Hi, I know that this change can be confusing now, but we wanted, mainly, to provide one main menu to all users on the desktop, instead of one menu on the left side and the second one on the other.

Regarding to layers gallery, we offer preview, name and also the icon of the layer now.
If you want to use only certain layers, you can prioritize them and pin to the top only these, you want to use.
Fonts are bigger, since there were many requests for that.
Forecast models are still on the same position, it the bottom right corner.

why would one change the UI before make sure all (or at least most) OLD features are unaffected and available?
I prefer working features vs fancy looking useless UI.

Day and night plugin also not compatible again!, last time it took more than half a year after update :(. So sad

@damanyou @GrigoryA We wanted to remove the whole plugin system, but there were many requests to keep it in Windy. So we updated the system and it should be now much easier to manage these plugins by their developers. However, we can't still wait for all developers with every update.

When you will see how many people are willing to pay for it... A/B testing - have you heard about it?

I.e. from your answer I can see you have no idea why people use (or rather did use) windy, what they liked and why are willing to pay for it.

Agree with Demetris. The pictorial icons don't add value. They make the interface more difficult to navigate. Please return to the old format.

Sounding and skew-T diagram is part of core Windy functionality for a long time. If alternative sounding plugin will not appear we can enhance our core sounding to match its functionality
Expert mode is now DEFAULT (you do not need to activate it)
New plugin system is state of the art and is NOT compatible with old system. It can not be compared to old system which was barely usable.
We gave 2 months for plugin developers to rewrite their plugins.
