I do NOT like the new interface :-(

@GeorgeCGeorge
Did you read the reply to your only previous post ?

Hi. The ECMWF model came out around 10:30 a.m. DST. Now it comes out 2 hours later on Windy. For what ? It's the same problem for ICON and GFS.
These models are released more than 2 hours late compared to the old interface. -
@46er In addition, the zoom in/out button are hidden behind the meteogram forcing the user to close the meteogram to fine tune their location.
-
The new web interface is awful. It's confusing and a lot of features are now hidden. Please bring back the old interface Windy!

@Toni-Mendes said in I do NOT like the new interface :-(:
Also NOT a fan! It works on mobile but not on a desktop. The previous UI was much more usable.
You should do a mix of the two, with the drop down menus from the previous interface and the round images showcasing each filter in the drop down menu.They will not do it. They will never admit their work was in the wrong direction so they will insist old things can be done now too silently forgetting they need more clicks or be way less convenient now in PC.
On a PC there is no need to save screen space and make things WORSE/need more clicks to achieve something!
On old UI you wanted to see clouds and then see low clouds and then middle clouds? Click clouds and then it expanded to see high/low/medium level clouds. Now? You must fill your home screen with all these options. What if I want wind gusts too? Should I fill homepage with all these options?
What was wrongwith the old method of clicking and expanding and they had to worsen it??On old gui you wanted to see wind and see for 700 hPa? Select wind and then without clicking anything you can select any level you want. Now you have to extra click altitude and then press X to close it as it fills the screen with the extra menu.
Amazing stuff. Instead of improving it they had made it much worse.
And what about labels? How can you disable them now? Old UI had a javascript trick now it doesn't work. Reason I did not go premium was that they had not made(since 2 years I have asked) such a simple option available to remove labels(cities etc).
Now with all these ridiculous worsening changes I would not even use it. -
this is what android users faced long ago, complained long ago to no avail. Now it came to website. I tried to use website as much as possible - now it is the same sxxx. For some reasons - even when asking for feedback - app designers completely ignore these comments for many months, almost a year, completely infatuated with this bad and clumsy design. I find it shocking. Is this done for customers? or for themselves? If for customers - respect their comments, make it more friendly again without all these "improvements" bothering users around the globe.
I suggested long ago - if designers love this style so much - make it an option. maybe some people share this bad taste and impractical version and would use it. But create a switch that would display old style, clear and compact menu and info. Then you can still love what you did, and thousands of users really irked by this unfriendly idea would have option to "go back" or keep it simple and better.
But I guess they will never listen. They love this junky design so much no word of opinion can change it. I am considering cancelling my paid subscription. maybe if enough of us just stop paying - they will notice something is not ok. I would come back to paid when it is fixed. because they don't respect normal comments, and this "upgrade" is the proof. Sad. Spatne hlopcy.

Put "My favourites" just above first "menu" options. There is no reason to navigate throughout a big graphic topic to find what you need most.
-
Hello Windy development team. Would you in the future inform all users before you'll try to destroy something what is running well? The new interface is the best example how to make a flight preparation more complicated.
-
@Koss5
Are you talking about the new browser version update ?
Favorites are at same placeAnd the full list in the Menu as it was before.
-
@Pakebo61 Unfortunately, late data in ECMWF has its own reason and it has nothing to do with the new UI. ECMWF provides us with data much later in last days and we are trying to get further info from them.
-
@Holoboss users would have it in their hands to simply stop paying. the developers' play instinct is childish and destroys their own work
-
@Suty I often check the update time for different models. It is now more work to do so.
The recent interface changes, as others are writing above and below, are a big disappointment. -
@Suty said in I do NOT like the new interface :-(:
@Coelacanth Hi, yes we see these feeedbacks and consider all potential changes. However, I have to tell you that is not planned to get back to the old version, but we think about adjustments to the new version.
You folks at Windy are obviously not listening to your user base. Your answer shows both ignorance and arrogance. Not a good sign for the future.
You took a perfectly good and usable/understandable interface and changed it to something that only a programmer could like. When informed of those facts you can't admit the mistake.
-
@Suty
Please tell us why you think that? I have played with it for hours and still have no clue. I can tell you that I am not going to spend 50 hours learning how to get back to the place I was a week ago before the change. -
This 'update' is terrible, waste of screen space. Who can tell the difference between all the stupid icons? Now you have to open the menu, & scroll through. New isn't always better. Bringing back the 'old' would be a major improvement.

It is quite impressive to see (once again) how a change in management can make all the difference in the success of a product.
While the founder of Windy was a pilot and kitesurfer in need of a great weather tool, it is very obvious that the new leadership is not using their product for any real purpose, like i.e. flight preparation. Otherwise they would have figured out on there own, that the new UI broke the tool.
But as they already demonstrated with the app changes: they will not listen to the users.
So it is now time for me to move on. -
I do NOT like the new interface either.
Please is there a setting in which I can revert to previous display??? -
🪜, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , 🔨👾. . . . .
It´a .0.1 Version. Good start with the potential to get and keep it clearly arranged soon. -
Another vote against the bubbles... It's much more difficult to find the correct text label for a layer when it's buried between nonsensical colorful tiles. Not only is it multiple clicks to change layers (where it was previously efficient), it's harder to navigate. MAJOR UX downgrade.
-
Garbage interface, sadly. This appears to be a trend lately with mobile UI designers. Rather than support two interfaces (desktop and mobile), they'd much rather just support the mobile design.
Screw anyone who wants to use their PC on the modern web anymore, honestly. /s
