It is my understanding that the way Windy allows which forecast models to be displayed, depends on which area you are viewing in the app. For example HRRR and NAM models are not available in the middle of the ocean. But Hawaii is mapped by HRRR and available in other places online.

Why is Windy not displaying HRRR in Hawaii?

@Caefix I think @Sean-Doyle-2 is referring to the HRRR guidance model, not satellite imagery.

I suspect Windy displays the CONUS HRRR which is separate than the Hawaii or Alaska HRRR models.
That's my assumption - could be wrong

@Wheats I am primarily interested in high resolution wind, but I don't see an option for CONUS HRRR in the forecast models.

@Sean-Doyle-2 What I mean is - CONUS is the Continental United States and won't have data for Hawaii.

So I'm guessing that's what Windy is using, just the CONUS HRRR model and not the specific HRRR model for Hawaii or Alaska as these are separate models.

@Sean-Doyle-2 HRRR in Hawaii is currently only Experimental, which is why I suspect Windy has not implemented it yet. The NAM 3KM is available for Hawaii, however.
