Now we added backgrounds to the written list - surely to make them highlighted against the maps itself, where the city names would literally replace the title for the icon that is not an icon. Icons are a sign which has a characteristic in common with the thing it signifies, not a random picture of a heat map.
Did windy fire all educated people and also the whole design department? Who is making these obviously bad decisions? And yes the highlight of the chosen map does not work well - and shows again that the "icons" are a total failure.

What a joke.

Next step maybe: Switch of appearance: Squares like the pin📌in the app, balls or pictos, text on/off,...

I was going to add that for me know which layer is confusion. I'm realizing that the slightly lighter pill shape next to Wind indicates your current selection, but that took me a while to understand. If this is the route y'all go, a clearer more easy to understand indicator of your current layer will be much appreciated.

I'd go a step farther, they are a useless waste of space.

100% agree. Going the Fisher-Price route is disappointing. The words in the list were not difficult to understand. At least give the option to display the list instead of icons.
