Rain in Germany but not in Sahara.

I have one question. Wind in Germany and Sahara come from north. Why in Germany bring rain but not in Sahara.?

@Caefix Nice Pdf. I think I got it. Westerly winds in Europe are not always coming from west to east. They can also come from north to south. Germany is then affected by westerlies even if air comes from north. This is not real north wind. In case of Sahara, north wind is not westerly. That is the reason, why in Germany is rain and not in Sahara.
