Here's a member of the community... And yeah, that's would be awesome if the AROME model could include the altitude and not only be at the surface layer, as a paraglider pilot : it would be very useful!
      Thanks 馃檹馃檹

@Samygallego arome HD would be awesome.

Check at meteociel already have this feature but the display is not user friendly.

            @Samygallego

altitude with ar么me would be great ! I agree with others, it's the most accurate in the french Alps, but for the rest of the Alps too: I m using it in Austria (sadly only for the west part) and Italy too.
And I say it as a paying member (it's the only application I pay for)

It would be easier for beginners to use windy, because nowadays I have to explain them how to get the wind in altitude with choosing the weather on the highest peak around. It's tricky so not accessible to beginners.

Plus I would love to have the possibility to chose ar么me by default instead of the ecmwf model which is only good in flatlands.
In fact we should be able to choose the model order by preference (For me it would be 1 ar么me, 2 icon D2, 3 ecmwf). So if I am in a place where ar么me is not available, it switchs to icon.

I would be able to not have the ecmwf model completing the ar么me d2 after 2 days on the 7 days view. For the completion after 48h, icon EU would be better than ecmwf. In last case (I don't see why we couldn't have completion with icon EU), even nothing would be better than completion with ecmwf.

                Thanks for your post @Samygallego

I have had the same feedback from many paraglider pilots: AROME would be awesome.

PG pilots have little interest in surface conditions, what they are looking at to check the conditions is the sounding forecast - that's why many users complained about the v42 update when the plugin sounding stop working for a few days before I had time to update the plugin to the new API.

AROME covers the Alps where thousands of people are flying on good day. Here in France meteo-parapente.com is popuplar because it uses the AROME model but the UI is way less friendly than windy.

Please switch to AROME 2.5 馃檹.

This is much needed Windy team, it'll boost your app adoption in the vol libre communities even further, as we currently have to use many different sources to derive a meaningful forecast. I have been premium subscriber for years to support the team. Thank you in advance!

Hi, it would be amazing to be able to use Arome 2.5 for altitude layers. I hope it is possible one day!

Merci pour votre travail, avoir ar么me sur le.best sounding serait un vrai plus pour affiner nos pr茅visions aerologiques.
                          Merci encore

Windy is such a great tool and arome layers is a must. Don't understand why it is not already there!

Oh yes. That would be so gooooood! As a matter of fact I rarely use arome unfortunately because of this limitations: altitude and also forecasts for only 24 hours. I would go get it on meteoblue for example wich is too bad since we can have it all on windy.

Please please ! replace Arome1.3 by Arome2.5 (with Altitude) ! 2.5km is already a very nice resolution and, as Samy stated, if the 2.5 output comes from the 1.3 forecast, there is no point in keeping the full resolution at surface and depriving Windy aficionados from the highly reliable Arome forecast above surface ! There's definitely a demand from the community ! Many thanks to the Windy developers!

                                    Hello,
Yes please it would be incredible to have altitude layers with Ar么me 2,5 instead of 1,3 surface. For the time being, we only can predict our trajectory with the altitude layers of ECMWF, which is not ideal at Day-1 or early morning of the D-Day...
                                    Thanks for Windy anyway !
