Scale of the map

Should be possible to indicate scale in the corner of the map in Android app? I know that the scale varies due to mercator projection, but showing scale at least at higher zooms where error is not so significant will be helpful. Thanks.

You already have an easy way to measure distances on the map.
Use Distance & planning at top of screen and move the map to the distance you are interested in

@idefix37 I also could use a small continuous scale feature, which exists on most map applications but is strangely missing from Windy. I notice there are several requests in recent years for this feature. Entering another mode to drag a false waypoint for some idea of scale is inefficient and inconvenient, and is not a real alternative for that function.

This is not a waypoint, it is the distance measured between 2 points on the map
In your request are you meaning a scale like in this example (Marine traffic)?
I can explain why it is not useful and not accurate.
Or do you have another example in mind?Have you tried to use the Distance & planning feature ?
