Historical Data - Write a plugin or better off writing my own application?

Hey guys.

I have always wished Windy offered historical and climatological data for viewing. I know you can write plugins for Windy, but I'm not totally sure how to do that or how that works.

The ECMWF offers aggregate climate data as well as date specific data. Would I be able to write some plugin and load that into the Windy map or would I be better off trying to write my own application?
