How are stations added?
-
I live in the Adirondack Mountains of northern NY. The stations Windy pulls from are primarily located at higher elevations. Thus temperature for those of us in the river valleys is inaccurate. Today, this moment, for example, Lake Placid and North Elba are at 75, KSLK is 77, Marble Mountain 76. But my Tempest weather station and my thermometer has 83. This variation can be more pronounced in winter. How does Windy add and use stations? Can we advocate for new stations?

Poked around a bit more and have hopefully added my personal Tempest station to the network. Hasn’t shown up yet but assuming it might take a day? There’s a lot of information here but it is time consuming to sort through.

@broadwinged Hi, does your issue with missing station still persist? Or the station is already available in Windy?

@broadwinged It looks like you only inserted the link to your station, but our station system doesn't work that way and you need certain software for processing this. Please check our stations posts here, it should help you in this.

@Suty thanks for the reply. I’m not sure I have the skill set or time to figure this out. The pinned discussions on the station post page look fairly complex. I had hoped it would be more straightforward. Will see if I can chip away at it.
