@Hero2-0 @anthony10 @illili The AIFS is already in the latest version of our web app and it should be available in our mobile apps in a few days. However, we offer AIFS as an extension to ECMWF in the forecast detail. So now ECMWF, together with AIFS, offer 15 days of forecast.

But this will not provide AIFS Forecasts for 1-10 days forecast..right?

@Suty @David-Polášek this is exciting news! I now see the AIFS extension in the forecast detail. Excited to see it roll out as a model.

Will it replace the traditional ECMWF, or will it be an extra option? Would be neat if we could keep both. The more the better, I say!

Thanks for all the hard work!

@illili Hi, at this moment, it will stay this way. There is no plan to implement it as a separate model now.

@Tomber42 seems like that is the case @Suty?

@anthony10 Yes, we provide AIFS only as an extension for standard ECMWF.

@Suty Where can I see AIFS as an ECMWF extension?
In addition, the accuracy of ECMWF's rainfall forecast in the past half year has been very poor. This is very different from before. What is the reason?

Please keep in mind that AIFS (ECMWF) currently runs at a horizontal resolution of 28 kilometers (approximately 0.25 degrees).

windy is using the weather models for visualisation of weather.. they do not developing this models. So here is the wrong place for that type of questions

ECMWF AI model is useless in predicting any further than 7 days anyway. Besides being completely wrong and changes dramatically at times... Also the AI used in Radar is about 90 degrees out! I've repeatedly looked up the rain on radar and as soon as it gets to the AI prediction, I've seen the model turn 90 degrees in another direction! This is obviously wrong and was as weather does not turn 90 degrees in an instant.
I've been using Windy for at least 6 years now..but .the predictions have worsened lately.

I only use ECMWF model for Wind as that seems to be true. I use MBLUE for rain and temperature which has a better prediction.
In my experience all AI generations do not work properly....they're only as good as the people inputting the instructions.
I'll keep using Windy as its still much better than any other weather app! There are so many layers you can use...I love it! ❤
I just hate the AI forecasts...as wrong...please give up on AI....

For your information MBLUE includes AI algorithms as said here

But I did not heard that in the Radar layer there is an “AI prediction”. Could a developer confirm that or not ?

Hi...it seems that the MBLUE model, even with AI gives a more accurate forecast than ECMWF in UK and Australia for temperature and precipitation.
The radar shows past 1/6 or 12 Hrs but the forecast for one hour changes direction of up to 90 degrees.
At the moment I'm looking at Sydney for example, but other countries don't seem to have this anomaly.

                                  Hi,
I use the MTBLUE model every day. This model is very good specially in mountains.
The radar “prediction” is not my favourite feature.
