Custom color scale option (steps/contours)

Hi! :)
It would be nice if we had the option to create not only smooth color scales like it is possible now (with a gradual transition from color to color), but to be able to create solid/step colormap. I don't know how many of them would find this feature useful, but it would just make it better to depict the value borders, etc. :)
