Hi, the Tidal Current layer is very helpful for route planning in our region, Far Northern Australia, but sometimes the information on the layer is completely incorrect. This is fine if you have local knowledge, but could be dangerous for visitors. Not sure if this is something you can fix as I have no idea what your source for the tidal currents is. A specific example is the Tidal Current in Cadell Strait between the Mainland and Elcho Island in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, Australia. The current directions are 100% incorrect. (The ebb sets to the West and the flood to the East.)

In some areas with bays, river mouths, estuaries or straits the tidal currents and tides maps are wrong because the data resolution cannot take into account the shape of seashore and seabed.

@idefix37 Thanks, I get that the data may be incorrect for that reason, I guess its a tricky one, basically the information in some case is dangerously incorrect - ie in the case i mentioned where the currents are 180º wrong, but maybe a mix of correct data and completely wrong data is better than none?!
          Cheers, Rick

At least that should be underlined by a warning in “About the data” of Tidal currents. Same for the Tide.
