Windy acquires majority stake in Meteoblue - What to expect?

Hey Windy team,
Now that this announcement has happened, the community is assuming there might be some big changes happening to Windy which is very exciting.
We know that the company doesn't share what is being implemented so we're assuming that the full suite of Models + Layers that Meteoblue uses will be added to Windys platform?
I'd like to know what other community users might hope for with this announcement.

@anthony10 Will users see Seasonal Forecasts (Anomaly's) with a few days forecast added into Windy?

@anthony10 Water Surface Temperature with a 9 day forecast would be a good layer to add also.

@anthony10 Updating and adding new snow layers would be fantastic.
Daily Snowfall & Hourly Snowfall are two layers that a lot of snow lovers would want.

@anthony10 , yeah, i wanit all, all of meteoblue layers incl all models and off course fronts, cold and warm ,even the occluded ones and squallines for the heartland too.
i might be impertinent and utterly grumpy, just give us that Midas touch, Windy! cause you lot are the freakin gold-standard on wx-maps

You look like a kid who has gorged himself on candy and is asking for more.
You have these feature available in Meteoblue, why do you need to duplicate them. -
@idefix37 haha that is true but now that Windy has acquired a large stake in Meteoblue, it seems more reasonable and likely to ask for those features knowing with higher confidence they’ll be added.
Why would Windy acquire a feature rich weather service but expect users to float between the two?
Doesn’t seem logical.

@anthony10 Will Windy update their UI to include arrows for direction of movement as another toggle option? This would help make things clearer.

@anthony10 'Sunshine hours' could be a good layer to add for outdoor enthusiast.
Meteoblue description - The map shows how many hours of sunshine are expected for a given location within a day. The number of hours of sunshine depends on the cloud cover, the season and the geographical location of a site.

@anthony10 I think you seem very interested in windy seeing a massive overhaul. I just received a new overlay today, Radar+, which includes satellite and radar all in one, this is one of the things you wanted, windy has it. The heatmaps were also added about a week ago. Also, your ideas are really ambitious and creative. It would likely take months if not years for Windy to receive more of the Meteoblue content, and also not all things would be on Windy anyways.
The only one thing I would like Windy to keep is the customized color scales for overlays, even if you may have to put it to premium in the future, I would like this feature to always remain and never removed. If the custom color scales were to be removed, windy would lose a lot of it's active users and things would go downhill and be challenging to maintain. Anyways, the future looks bright, though don't expect all of the changes you outlined to be coming in the next several weeks.

@Weather2004 It is great to see Windy advancing the platform with new features (I was very excited this morning when I saw the Radar+ Beta) in line with the competition.
I don't think what I've been suggesting is a 'massive overhaul' to Windy but rather adding a few new layers + models.
A massive overhaul in my view would be HUGE changes to the UI, advanced features like rain/radar alerts, AI integration etc.
All I'm suggesting is to add some features from Meteoblue (daily snow, snow accumulation, NEMS & UMKO models etc) now that they have a stake in the company.
The windy community encouraging the Windy team to keep pushing and not become complacent should be celebrated.
I do agree that colour customizing is a MUST keep for the platform! -
Now that Windy has added the Heat Map and Radar+ to the platform, I hope the next small feature Windy dev's will add alongside Total accumulation is:
- Daily precipitation
- Hourly precipitation
- Daily snowfall
- Hourly snowfall
