Ocean Buoy data - Water Temperature

I live in New Zealand and absolutely love the app. This may a be a tough question to answer.
What are the chances of buoy data for water temperature on the model? Living on an island and looking at the data, having that additional data makes tracking low and high pressures "easier" (for a lack on a better word). That kind of information can also give you an "idea" of where the pressure systems may track, then it doesn't appear a pressure system is suddenly changing direction.
Would be amazing with that extra data! -

Could you explain why there would be a relationship between sea temperature and atmospheric pressure?
