Re: Shipping AIS And flight AIS tracking

So for AIS tracking I use either:

A site that has two tracks: free with paid upgrade
(For my taste, the data density in Vesselfinder is a bit too high.
I'm really not interested in real-time tracking of an anchor chain.)
I would say anything that hasn't moved within an hour is standing still.

      or

Under the "View" tab there should be a menu item called Marine Traffic.

I'll see if I can get a bug fix pushed.

(For my taste, the better equipped side. Has the potential to find out whether we can stack the yogurt cups in the harbor in 2 to 3 days.

Und weil es mit Bild einfach schöner ist

        @Torsten-Selle

AIS (automatic identification system) is not “a fantastic weather system” as you state in your previous post. It just transmits the position of a ship to other ships, to stations along coastline and to satellites. This allows to some websites to give the information to everyone.
I don’t see how this a way to tell about the weather, Of course ships don’t cross a current hurricane zone. But it is like looking at people with umbrellas to tell is is raining.

Why do I find myself in a situation where I want to justify a request that may or may not be useful?

We are not the same person. Forum search:"AIS" - 4 results -first (not entirely error-free) post selected.

Maybe it's still a bit early in the session.

You are aware that Windy has a very efficient Hurricane tracker?

            Have a good day.

Unfortunately, there is also a tendency to mix current measurements and (I'm exaggerating here) fortune-telling.

The next orbit of Sentinel 2A should bring a nice total.

For you it is so difficult to separate past data and future ones (forecasts) on the track ?
When 3 weather centers (NHC, ECMWF, MetOffice) predict a similar track for Beryl, you call that fortune-telling !
