Web view on iPadOS Safari bug
-
Web view of the Safari in iPadOS overlays the OS bottom “button” over the Windy web site pickers.
See example.
It’s very difficult to pick something (impossible in the middle) and because you don’t see anything, you must know/guess the positions.
Is it only for me, maybe I’m missing a setting? -
This is what you should get on iPad with the browser version
You say
Web view of the Safari in iPadOS overlays the OS bottom “button” over the Windy web site pickers.
I don’t understand what you mean.
In your screenshot I just see that the buttons at bottom of the table are not visible. Am I right ? -
@idefix37
Yes. They are partially (almost completely) covered by the bottom slider/button or whatever Apple calls the bottom of the screen.
It’s like I’ve shown on the screenshot. -
@enterfornone
I see. Do you have this button always shown at bottom of websites? I don’t have a similar button on my iPad but it is probably not the same modèle. -
@idefix37 Yea. It’s always on the bottom of every screen, every app.
This is the “home button” on every iPad without a physical button. -
What is exactly your iPad model ?
-
@idefix37
The model with the screenshot is an Air 4th gen (MYFM2HC/A)
This one and any air/pro after t don’t have physical button, but this virtual one. -
@enterfornone Did you try to use the app?
-
@Suty Of course :)
But the functionality is not the same, is it?
The app misses some layers (radar+), cannot display the (much, much more accurate for my location) MeteoBlue meteogram and has the annoying bug of chaotic layer order which I’ve reported separately. And requires to close the forecast to change layers - for which I pitched in in another thread where we chatted with you and you promised to look into that :)So the web view is better, but doesn’t account for the software button.
-
@enterfornone Okay, understood. I will discuss this fix of the bottom line with colleagues. However, our mobile apps will get Radar+ as well in a few days.
-
I see this is still a problem. Nothing has been done about it!!
-
@Suty could we get some update about this? This bug has been around for at least 2 years? How hard could it be to fix?
-
@mike_kr Unfortunately, we cannot do much with that, since there is a Safari bug on the end of Apple development. I am sorry that I don't have better news for now.
I can only recommend using the app instead of the browser.
