Removing the button to download the application
-
Hello,
This is my first time using Windy Maps on a real server after purchasing the Professional Map Forecast API.
However, when I use the actual service I get a screen asking me to install the application. See the image below.
I would like to know how I can prevent the application installation screen from being displayed.
Thanks. -
@daumweather Please check this post here.
-
@Suty Thank you for your response.
My question was how to remove the download button from the map.
But the answer I am getting seems to be different from what I requested.
Could you please let me know how I can remove the button to download the application from the map? -
@daumweather I will get further info from colleagues to help you with this issue. Thank you for your patience.
-
@daumweather It looks like you hit the limit of monthly requests in July, but the rest of months is okay.
-
@Suty Thank you for your promt reply.
When I reach my monthly limit, will I see a download button?
If so, how can I check my monthly limit? As our service exposes windimaps, we are very sensitive about exposing the download button within our service.
We would appreciate specific instructions on how to expose the download button in your application. -
@daumweather Yes, the pop up shows up when the limit is hit. May I access your app? Can you share the link to it?

Hello @Suty.
We have checked the maximum number of sessions per day for the MAP API as shown below.https://api.windy.com/map-forecast
We would like to increase the daily session limit in order to stabilise the service.
At the moment, the maximum number of sessions that we need to have per day is around 1.2 million.
Is it possible to increase this to the desired level of 1.2 million sessions per day?
If so, can you please guide us through the process of increasing it?
Thanks. -
@daumweather I am not sure if this is possible, but I asked colleague to get further info. Theoretically, if we should allow this, we need to see and check the app, when our API is used. We cannot do anything without that.
-
@Suty Thank you for your prompt reply.
Referring to the MAP API guidelines, it says that the number of sessions can be increased by agreement.
We're also willing to pay for the additional quantity from the default number of sessions per day provided by Windy.
I'd like to know how to increase the number of sessions per day.
We look forward to hearing from you! -
@daumweather Yes, we are normally open to make an agreement with customer, however, we usually talk about the increment of a few tenths of thousands.
-
@Suty
If this is the case, what is the maximum number of working sessions per day that can be increased by mutual agreement?
Could you please provide us a precise guide for agreement?
We're waiting to hear from you! -
@daumweather Hi, could you please provide us with your app where our API is included?
-
@Suty https://issue.daum.net/disaster/heavy-rain
You can find it on the page I delivered. Since we are portal service, we are corresponding to both app and web. You can find it by searching 'Daum' on the App Store, but you can also access it on your PC and mobile through the web (www.daum.net ). It is still being tested, so you can check it on the page I delivered. I'd like to expose myself to a service that is available even if I pay an additional amount. Please check and let me know. Thank you. -
Hello, @Suty
Could you please give me a timeframe for completing the review of the above request?
I'm asking for your confirmation as we will need to discuss this internally once we have heard back from Windy.
Thank you for your understanding. -
@daumweather Hi, so you basically use data from Windy to offer them in Daum Weather section, am I right?
-
@Suty Hello, yes that is right.
-
@daumweather Hi, our API is only for smaller services with thousands od requests daily and we need to consider this request from you with the whole team as potential B2B business, but it will take about 2-3 weeks to approve this now. Would this be interesting for you?
-
@Suty
Thank you very much for your positive feedback.
We look forward to discussing how we can use Windy's MAP API for B2B.
Is it possible for a B2B Business Review to be completed sooner than the 2-3 week timeframe you indicated?
We look forward to hearing from you.If you prefer, you can also send me an email directly.

@daumweather Thank you for your email address. Unfortunately, we still need a few weeks, since many involved colleagues have vacation now. Thank you for the patience.
