Windy Mac widget displaying wrong screen resolution - too big
-
I had found that when the Windy widget on my Mac Studio is clicked for the weather forecast it starts in the wrong resolution for my screen compared with just accessing via the Windy website and is therefore unusable.
This was after using the cntl+ & - keyboard shortcuts on my keyboard to zoom in and out of the map. It appears that when doing this the whole screen expanded but would not contract the Windy icons on the windy display when cntl - pressed, only the map. ( see screenshot ) .
However, I found that if I applied the zoom-out setting from the Safari menu bar, I could return to my desired display setting.

@Alan-Cameron Hi, could you please provide more details how you use Windy on your Mac? We are not able to understand the issue you have.
In these days, we offer Windy.com only as a web app in the browser and there is no possibility to use any version from AppStore. Also, in our web app in the browser, it should be standardly possible to zoom out and in. May I ask what exactly you did to access the larger window you have in the screenshot?

@Suty
First off my apologies for initial confusion, I have mixed up Control & Command buttons in previous statement. I hope the following is clearer.I had simply used the cmd - buttons on my Mac keyboard to zoom out on map, this expanded the Windy map, but when I use the cmd + keys to restore to normal map detail it zooms in on map but also increases the Windy Icons within. The only way to restore the icons to normal size is using the pull down "view" menu within Safari and clicking "zoom out" see attached screen recording, using the Windy Widget & the cmd- & + keys to zoom. Note issue doesn't happen if zoom in & out with mouse scrolling.

@Alan-Cameron Okay, thank you. Did you try to use it without the cmd button? It works okay for me, but it can be only a different localization of keyboard. Also can you please inform us about the browser and its version you use? Did you test any other browsers?

I'm using a Mac Studio running Sonoma 14.5, with Safari browser 17.5, and my Mac keyboard is set to UK settings.
I have also tried DuckDuck browser as the default rather than Safari and the issue persists.Using the scroll function on my magic mouse works fine with no issues resizing the map window with Windy, map resizes fine with the associated function icons staying fixed size as they should do.
This is not a big issue, as now I know just to use the mouse scroll rather than cmd + & - keys, but I thought you should be aware for future updates etc.
