FWI overlay available through the API
-
Hi! I'm looking to integrate one of our products with Windy but I can't see any documentation about the FWI overlay to use it with the API. Is that choice available for premium users?
I see that Basic users only have "wind", "temp" and "pressure" but can't see anything else about the fwi layer.
Furthermore, I see that the plugins documentation (https://docs.windy-plugins.com/api/interfaces/DataSpecifications.DataSpecifications.html#overlay) shows this overlay option but I need that confirmation before buying.
Thanks!

@JoacoChamo Hi, we offer our API service with much more layers than you mentioned. Please check this link.
-
@Suty Thanks, we're interested in a few layers that appear in that list. The only one related to this is "fire intensity", just to be clear, is the same of the next picture?
-
The map that you show is the Fire risk. Click on the small circled i in bottom right corner.

@idefix37 Thank you, so the map called "Fire risk" (which is based on the FWI) is available for Professional users in the Map Forecast API?
-
@JoacoChamo Yes, this one is available in the MapAPI.
-
@Suty Hi! Thanks for the answer. We already paid for the Professional version and I can't find the layer id in the available options using https://api.windy.com/assets/map-forecast/libBoot.js.
What is the id of that layer? The only options available when doing "windyAPI.store.getAllowed(“overlay”)" are:
["satellite”,"wind”,"gust”,"gustAccu”,"rain”,"rainAccu”,"snowAccu”,"snowcover”,"ptype”,"temp”,"dewpoint”,"rh”,"deg0”,"clouds”,"hclouds”,"mclouds”,"lclouds”,"fog”,"cape”,"ccl”,"waves”,"swell1","swell2”,"swell3","wwaves”,"currents”,"currentsTide”,"no2","pm2p5”,"aod550","gtco3”,"tcso2","go3”,"cosc”,"dustsm”,"fires”,"pressure”]The only related is "fires" but that shows active fires, not the fire risk layer.

@JoacoChamo Oh okay, I am sorry about that, that was a wrong info from my end. If you already paid the service, I can refund it for you.
-
@Suty I understand. I see that the lib version is 36.0.0, but a few more were released. Do you know if there are any plans to include this layer in the future?
-
@JoacoChamo At this moment, there are no plans to anyhow update the whole Map API. I am sorry about that.
