Unresponsive at times

I have a fast connection and a fast Mac (10.12.2) with Safari 10.0.2.
The prior version was very stable and responsive. This version is not as responsive. This can happen when trying to use the zoom controls (- +), when changing the overlay (e.g., pressure to rain), or trying to click on a spot to get the conditions at a specific location. I click, nothing happens. I refresh the page, and the it is responsive.
I appreciate that this is a non-commercial project and a labor of love. It is a fantastic site for weather junkies like myself. I wish I had had this when I was cruising in my sailboat from 2008-2018.

Well can you please describe more the actions, that precede the "unresponsive" times.
