User default layer does not load on startup on Android app
-
@fosojedi Hi, do you use McAfee as a VPN tool on your device?
-
@Suty I do not use McAfee VPN.
-
@fosojedi Okay, how about any other McAfee tools on the same device?
-
@Suty I have no McAfee tools or apps on my phone. I do have McAfee on my work computer and it works fine on there.
-
@fosojedi Okay and what exactly do you have running in background on this device?
-
@Suty it's a phone. But I just restarted it and immediately opened windy on login and it did the exact same thing. So very little was running in the background.
Right now these are all the services running.
-
@fosojedi Okay and does Windy work in the browser?
-
@Suty it does. I loaded it in the browser and changed the startup layer to waves and then closed the browser and reopened windy and it opened up the waves layer without issue. It seems isolated to the app.
-
@fosojedi Okay and about what device do we talk? Can you provide the model and its OS?
-
@Suty I'm using a Google Pixel 6 running Android version 14 (kernel 5.10.198-android13-4-00050-g12f3388846c3-ab11920634)

@fosojedi Hi, may I ask what layer do you use as a startup? We think that this can be related to setting the City heatmaps as a default one, could you please check that on your end?
Also we know about a bug that when you use the "Use last layer" option as a default one, it sets the layer, which was active in that moment of setting this.
These two together can end up with this issue you have. I would recommend trying to use any other option as a Startup layer to avoid this.

Same on iPhone, funny it started to do it since i went premium 😂
-
@Suty I use waves as the startup layer
-
@fosojedi it does the same thing on my work iPhone as well.
