How to track Fire Danger on Windy
In case you need to track the current situation on fire danger, this layer is located in the section "Drought" in the menu. This layer represents the potential for a wildfire (i.e., wildland fire, forest fire, vegetation fire) initiation and spread based on a combination of various meteorological parameters.

Use Active Fires for tracking large fire events
If you are interested in tracking fires that are active, we recommend using a feature called Active fires. However this layer is designed for general overview of a large fire events, not for real-time monitoring.
The data on active fires is provided by NASA FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System). The presented value is called Fire Radiative Power (FRP) and depicts the pixel-integrated fire radiative power in MW (megawatts) over a square kilometer.
