Windy launches Radar+ layer combining Satellite and Radar view
-
Fantastic update! Windy has been our go-to for years, both for me and my family, as well as many friends who hike and sail regularly. We rely on it to stay informed about the weather, and this new addition makes it even better! We are truly grateful for all the hard work and dedication.
With heartfelt thanks,

@Polina-Nozdrina
giggity! The new layer is bomb! Less swipes between layers, with the same awesome information. Windy is my go to app for everything wx! And when I found past data, it changed my life!
Keep it up guys, I’ll people a lifer with you! -
Oh, I like it!

Fantastic layer. It is great to get both radar and satellite in the same layer.
For some constructive feedback, I really like the ability to select the speed of the radar playback in the web browser version of the Radar layer. Faster gives a great quick overview and the ability to watch the loop several times in quick succession, while slower makes it easier to see exactly where the rain passed over.
It would be great to have the ability in the Radar+ layer. Plus the mobile versions as well.

Radar compliments the valuable Windy info and I find this addition fantastic ! Kudos to the Windy team!

The combined maps look much better. It gives a more realistic idea of actual weather as it's happening.

I was seeing both the satellite imagery AND the weather radar when this new 'beta' layer first came out and loved it! However for the past several weeks whenever I select this layer using Chrome as a browser ( my default ) it simply displays the satellite imagery w/o the radar. It still displays correctly using Microsoft's Edge. Any idea on how I can get the two to display as advertised using Chrome?

@agalioto
May be you switched off the radar (RAD) -
I discovered windy since it was called windity... I still use it as my first weather forecast for sailing and snowboarding... Ofcourse I am premium... Well done on the new layer. I very much enjoyed it.

Well done I enjoyed the new layer.

Really interesting feature, it's often useful to combine different views and this feature is the perfect solution. Congrats.

I'm new to the Windy community and a early stage hobbyist around all things weather, but this view is very intuitive for someone like me. Helps paint a useful picture and map to what I'm seeing outside with my own eyes!
Cool stuff!

@zehenderson I also like how I can turn on the isolines of pressure and overlay that as well!

Hi to you all Windy team members.
This is exactly the weather forecast/historic App I was looking for.
Thanks for your inspired ideas :-) -
@Polina-Nozdrina great addition! Ive been using the meteoradar functionality the most frequently and it saved us with the kids in the Swiss Alps last summer during a sudden hail storm. Windy is one of the few paid apps Im using and will continue to do so!

Best weather app I have found in New Zealand. Congratulations windy on your addition of radar+. Great addition. Smooth and accurate.

I'm not seeing the new ( Radar+ ) layer from Chrome ( my default browser ) OR from my Windy app ( Android ). Shows up just fine from MS's Edge. Any ideas or suggestions?
