Windy launches Radar+ layer combining Satellite and Radar view

The new layer is very interesting, especially for short time forecasts of up to 30 minutes. I usually alternate layers to make the decision to get the children from school on foot or by car, depending on the approaching rain. In tropical areas, clouds are not synonymous with rain and sometimes the overcast sky limits us to going without cars to pick up the children or go to supermarkets, even with the radar showing low reflection. the double layer is practically a definitive solution for everyday life in tropical areas.

It is great, thank you. However I have a question - I need to set my default layer (radar) quite often again, after some while it is always back to Wind. Can you make my settings permanent?
-
Thank‘s .
I‘m looking forward to the new feature.
Great. -
Well now, that is really pretty. Nice one!

Love the new Radar+ feature, tried it out right away. Not to be hyperbolic but the Windy App saves lives. I know because it saved mine and other campers during a microburst storm last year that came outta nowhere.
I will never be without this App. -
Great really like it
-
Radar+ is a good new view (thanks!) but.....
Please add also Wind in the same view.
This will help to understand what's coming. -
@pe0mot
Radar and Satellite are from observed data while Wind is from predicted data. Windy is not willing to mix them. At least you can enable Reported wind at weather stations (only Airport and wmo) -
Excellent system. I will definitely be using it. Many thanks.

As a pilot, I’m thrilled with this new feature as it augments the usual verbal WX briefing intuitively with fewer clicks. Windy is my “go to” app for situational awareness and safety.
The cool part is that it’s almost like having a crystal ball into the future that’s actually quite accurate!
Thank you, Windy team for always being on the cutting edge. -
Great development. Looking forward to using it in upcoming Pacific storm season.
-
Fantastic feature, brilliant integration of the two. Watching the storms overhead right now!

It's not easy to keep a mature app updated and reliable, and it's even more challenging to innovate it. Congratulations on your courage to implement new features and your professional approach.

Radar+ is a feature I've contemplated requesting for sometime; very pleased it's now here.
Tried in several locales (no "weather" here 😁) & notice that Infrared from satellite view doesn't function as expected in Radar+.
A small glitch no doubt (perhaps the AUS data feeds not integrating).
Again thanks for this much anticipated feature.

Great app and the new layer is really good. I am a coffee planter (Farmer) in India and have been using the app for some time and the best app just got better in predicting the weather for my farm work for the day.
Opening the app is like saying good morning for me.
Keep up the great work -
That's awesome! The Radar+ layer sounds like a game-changer for weather tracking. Can't wait to try it out.

@Polina-Nozdrina really great feature looking forward to use it as an additional sourve of information in my meteo flight prep

I’ve trusted Windy for 5 years.
We’ve sailed the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Mexico for the past 5 years and have come to rely and trust Windy’s forecasts. I’m amazed and pleased how consistent the information has been. Wind speed, direction, timing has been nearly flawless. Wave and swell information is an invaluable tool as well. Thanks Windy for making our Mexican journey a trip of a lifetime.
