Can you confirm if the model will be reinstated? It is important in view of the subscription....

@TZ 🙁 Sorry to read this. In NW Spain, this model really was very reliable, especially in the Galician Rias. If there is any possibility for you to value it again, I think it is of great interest in this area for sailing and other nautical sports.

@TZ, I hope windy will reintegrate the 1.3 km resolution! :
On the one hand, because I live in Bolzano (South Tyrol/Italy) and a small grid is important in the alpine lakes, as well as on Lake Garda (and the models are already becoming less accurate at their edges anyway), on the other hand, my most important wave spots are on the northern Adriatic:
There, the 2.5km doesn't cut it anymore and seems can't evaluate the local effects, plus AROME 1.3km had a 90% reliable forecast in the last couple of updates, which I wouldn't want to miss! It is important to renew the subscription....the 2,5km model seems not having any value to me.
(look at this blog to: https://community.windy.com/topic/33962/is-the-arome-model-no-longer-available/6 )

I don't understand you and the others. For example, I search for Schiermonnikoog, and I can see the Arome 1.3 km version being active.

What do you mean? Maybe you are talking about its duration, being just 1.5 days?

You are referring to the mobile app where the change has not been applied yet.

@hannesp Hi, since there was a huge interest here on community to use AROME 2.5km instead of 1.3km, we decided to change it and unfortunately this new model has smaller borders.

Because of this, my region of interest is no longer covered (i.e. Galician Rias, Spain)

@TZ that is a very sad news, here in central Italy we really liked the 1.3k, reliable and with wider coverage.

@idefix37 please let us keep using the higher-resolution model. We subscribed for a wider 1.3km, covering well enough central Italy, now with the 2.5km version we are cut-out.

But I stillI don't get it. Is there any benefit, even inside France, to use the 2.5 instead of the 1.3? Why do some prefer the 2.5?

@kkantoutsis There was a huge feedback in many threads, since AROME 2.5 offers possibility to change the altitude.

@Suty but the coverage of the model is much more restricted... is it impossible to maintain both? perhaps in those areas where 2.5 does not reach, being able to select 1.3...

My comments here were only intended to explain why the AROME domain was more restricted now.
Personally I prefer the 1.3km version which is much more useful in mountains and at sea. The 2.5km version which offers altitude forecasts is mainly of interest to people who practice aerial activities and were strongly asking for it as @Suty shows.

@Adrian-Fernandez I am aware of this, but we still offer UKV and ICON-D2 for other regions.

@Suty Yes, I know. I was probably more focused on my particular case. It's a pity, because it is really used a lot in the NW of the Iberian Peninsula. Nevertheless, thanks for your explanations.

Yes, for me it is important at sea because of sailing.

Hi, today I notice a different area coverage by model AROME from Android app and desktop. It seems that in desktop some area is missing.
I notice this different because I was looking for forecast in Monfalcone (Italy).

                                    Thank you

@TZ @Suty Have you ever think to keep the 1.3 km and if altitude is different from "surface" switch to 2.5 resolution? This solution can satisfy everybody needs and improve the quality of windy

Not really sure how you are trading off a much bigger area of a high res surface model against a small area low res altitude model. I guess there must be quite a flying scene that really is into this.

Doesn’t sound great to remove features from one group to favor other sports. Why not keep both? Would be a much better solution :)

With this update, windy takes a huge hit and ill have to find an alternative that provides arome 1.3km at some point. It’s annoying cause I quite like the windy interface.

I have to agree, AROME was one of the best models available in my area (Italy, Veneto).

I was subscribing specifically for this model. And I have just a few weeks ago renewed my subscription.

I hope we can get this 1,3km model back. It was very good.
