what is El Nino? is there a way to visualize this somehow
-
@ortlepp
El Nino and La Nina are climate patterns that are part of the El-Nino-Southern-Oscillation (ENSO). Has to do with the Trade Winds and Sea temperatures in the Pacific Ocean deviating from normal.El Nino is the warm phase of this cycle, there is a Neutral phase (what we are in currently) and there is the La Nina phase, which is the cold phase.
All phases of the cycle impact the global climate.
Windy used to have a Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly layer but I think it's been removed.
In my part of the world I would look at NOAA's resources around ENSO cycles. -
@Wheats thank you

@ortlepp Not a problem, hope that helped!
If you search "ENSO" I'm sure you'd find all sorts of resources -
@Wheats top👍
