When using a desktop browser, the detected location is often quite wrong, as it's geolocating the IP address. For me, that shows my currently location as being almost 100km away. Perhaps simply allow the user to set their location by clicking on the map.

Have you tried to set your start-up location ?

@idefix37 Yes, and when I close and reopen, the page is centered on that spot, but it still shows my location (the throbbing blue dot) as the browser-detected location. I can turn off browser detection by disallowing it from knowing my location, but that's still not what I'm wanting to achieve. Since it's a desktop computer, its location won't be changing, so being able to manually set my location would be ideal.

@hobotron Same here! An option to enter our Lon/Lat for the blue dot would be great!
