Map switches to ECMWF when forecast is shown
-
In the mobile app, If you set the map to NEMS and go to the forecast (even if Meteoblue was selected for the forecast), the map automatically switches to ECMWF.
What's that bug about? I understand your love for defaulting to ECMWF, but that's borderline ridiculous. You are basically misleading us, as there is NO indication which map is shown (the markers on top are gone) and the app switches without any warning!
It took me weeks of use to notice this misleading behaviour. Please treat this not as a feature request, but as a clear bug.
The website does not make that switch.

Hello @enterfornone, Meteoblue point forecast model doesn't have any map model and that is why ECMWF is displayed. NEMS model is provided by NOAA originally.
-
@Suty So why the switch?
Why the app decides to switch without any warning from the map layer I specifically selected to another without any indication?
Both layers are not Meteoblue.
Why the switch?And on top of that - the website does not do that, just the app. And the app hides the indication of the layer chosen.
This is a clear bug, please don’t try to convince me that somehow it’s a feature. -
Hi @enterfornone. NEMS and Meteoblue products are two separate products. NEMS is only shown on map (thus it is not shown/available in the forecast section). Meteoblue is only available as forecast (thus map switches to default ECMWF). Website does the same switch as mobile app. See the screenshots bellow:

@Filip_K said in Map switches to ECMWF when forecast is shown:
thus map switches to default ECMWF
But why?
Why the app makes this unannounced switch, from the layer I specifically chose before?
Why the app insists of preventing me to look at the Meteoblue forecast with anything else than ECMWF layer?
It’s literally impossible to choose which layer provider to look while looking at forecast. It ECMWF always down our throats. -
@enterfornone said in Map switches to ECMWF when forecast is shown:
But why?
Because there is no map for Meteoblue available.
-
@Filip_K Yea, I know Meteoblue does not have layers. But ECMWF is not THE ONLY one layer available!
Why you INSIST that to be THE ONLY option?EVCMWF is also NOT Meteoblue just as NEMS is not, correct? I want to look at NEMS layer along with the forecast. It happens to be much more correct than ECMWF. I CHOSE that layer specifically!
Why the app takes my choice away? Even worse - makes the switch completely unannounced!I’m amazed that you somehow insist this is somehow a feature?
I feel like I’m explaining a very obvious bug. -
@enterfornone
It is true that ECMWF isn't the only option, but since it is default model, it is switched to when map data for Meteoblue is not available.It is true that NEMS (or whichever model was previously selected on map) could stay selected. Also some kind of warning (that forecast chart does not match with data displayed on the map) should be probably displayed.
We will consider it, thank You for Your patience in the meantime.
