      Hi Ivo L.👋🏼

      1. Your Windy.com indicate that you measure some gases concentration in mg/m2 or μg/m2, but the values measured correspond to mg/m3 and μg/m3.

Additionally, gas concentration usually also is expressed in dimensionless ppm, which you ignore.

        Both of these are buggy.

      2. It would certainly be beneficial if you added a switchable conversion from mg/m3 and μg/m3 to ppm and back. The formula is published at PPM mg_m3 converter for gases _ Teesing.

      Sincerely, Jan D. (GandalfPrime)

Hi, the air quality expressed per m2 are correct because they are the quantity of gas in a column from ground to the top of atmosphere on a one square meter base. So if you try to convert this data per m3 or in ppm it will give wrong values.
See About this data in menu of the mobile app or the small circled i in the bottom right corner on the browser version.

We don't have access to the mobile app and we couldn't find the little circled i you mentioned. We have reviewed your argument, found that you are ignoring the suggested conversion and as a result assume that Windy.com is deliberately concealing the concentration of SO2, which at its peak exceeded a third of the estimated concentration of 100 ppm (i. e. 262 mg/m3 (100 mg/m3 × 100 ppm ÷ 38.17 ppm)) SO2 in the lower atmosphere during the life-fatal warming of early Mars.

If you use the web version you will find the information here

            You said

we […] found that you are ignoring the suggested conversion and as a result assume that Windy.com is deliberately concealing the concentration of SO2

Why would Windy be concealing the SO2 concentration ?!

Again, the displayed data is NOT at ground level. It is the total quantity of SO2 in a column from ground up to the top of atmosphere. And as the concentration of this gas in this column is not evenly distributed you CANNOT deduct the concentration at ground level.
This is not understandable to you ? Or you haven't read the previous posts, the ones quoted and the links provided ?

If you don’t believe this, ask your question to Copernicus (CAMS), the data source to Windy. They will show you this map
