      Re: Velocity mod

One thing those of us living in Tornado alley use quite a bit is the differential velocities provided by Doppler RADAR. A visual description - this is the red / green overlay which shows gradients based on Doppler effect. Winds moving away from the station are red-shifted, thus red, and green indicates the opposite. This is what we use to get an idea of where rotation is occurring. When paired with reflectivity data, which confirms the location infamous "hook echo", where the Doppler info provides velocity, adding the absolute values provides the total velocity, i.e. 60 MPH - (-60) MPH = potential tornado with 120 MPH winds.

Other apps have "specific station" info which allows a user to see reflectivity, velocity, correlation coefficient (also very useful), echo tops, etc., so the assumption is, if one has a access to each station, one also has access to these additional information.

        Agreed!
Options to see velocity (at least) would be a fantastic addition to Windy's radar layer.
