Question: Purpose of “Background App Refresh” for Windy iPhone / iPad apps

iOS shows the setting for “Background App Refresh” for this app, why should I leave this on for this app and what specifically does it use this functionality for?
I’m guessing they use this for maintaining the active login session?

@calisartis Hi, it helps the app to receive and provide you with updated data, despite you not using the app. It is essential function for widgets for example.
