How to stop sidebar menu from zooming when zooming map, and maintain usable map resolution?

Win 11, non touch screen. Hello, I have a new computer. When I try to zoom in on a map, the sidebar menu zooms to huge size, and the resolution of the map is unusably low. I didn't have this problem with my previous touch screen laptop. I used to be able to zoom in to get a very detailed resolution.
I believe the default resolution in settings is 650x450px. my display is 1920x1080. Ctrl+0 will reset the view, but doesn't solve the zooming issues.
