The "stay safe in hurricane season" overlay cannot be dismissed on iPhone

Probably in light of Milton, the Windy iPhone app has a new "stay safe in hurricane season" overlay.
At least on my iPhone 12 Pro Max, this overlay cannot be dismissed (i.e. I cannot get to any weather information). The problem is there is an 'x' to close, but it is drawn way in the upper corner of the screen behind the battery icon. The phone doesn't accept taps up there.
I found a workaround of force-quitting and re-opening. The overlay didn't seem to come back.

@snowvercast Hello, we are sorry about this glitch on certain devices. It should be already gone for now. However, if you see that issue again, that mentioned restart always helps.

@snowvercast Yes, i came across the same. Very bad timing since i am in Florida. I dont know how get ride of this, had to fall back to the PC.
