<![CDATA[Failed to locate]]>When I click on find my location, the following sentence appears.（Failed to determine your location. Make sure Windy.com has permission to access your location）
I made sure that all my software location permissions were turned on completely and tried everything to no vail.

Windy is one of the few non FOSS apps I use and happily pay for due to the very high quality of service you provide, it's essential for my job. Still perfectly usable without location services, but it would be nice, and the more apps that don't purely rely on google's attempted monopoly the better imo. Especially as android builds without google play services become more prevalent and accessible to install, this should be a consideration of every developer (in my opinion)

I am using an Android phone purchased locally, with Google service removed.

  • OS: Android 12
  • Windy version: 44.1.3

To give you more details,

  1. When the app starts, my location is centered on the map CORRECTLY.
  2. But when I tap on the Home icon, or Find My Location, then the error message “Failed to determine your location.” appears, and my location cannot not be identified.
  3. I checked the Location Access History in the OS settings, it shows the access is ALLOWED every time I tap, although the app says otherwise (see images).
  4. If I use a VPN, the app will identify the SERVER location as my location when the app starts or reloads.

Their conclusion is that the positioning permission is normal and the background is working normally, but the software may not be successful in positioning. Later, your software developers may be needed to adapt to my HarmonyOS.
