2024 Vendee Globe Yacht Tracking

Hi all,
I'm waiting for the administrators' approval for the version 2024 of the plugin I worked on 4 years ago. Because of the changes made by Windy on the plugin system since then, it is not yet as advance as last time, but I'm will try to improve it on a regular basis :)

@kbsali I dont see it in the "Windy plugins" list. Should it appear there or do I have to download it from a different URL ?

@Paspox Windy's admins need to validate its publication, until then you can load it with this url https://windy-plugins.com/2427993/windy-plugin-regadata-tracker/1.0.2/plugin.min.js

unfortunately this is not ideal as I will update the plugin regularly and its url will change on every new version published :/

@Paspox the plugin has been validated and published, you will find it in the list of plugins.
Unfortunately, every time I update it, we will have to wait for its publication by the admins...

I didn't know someone was working on a plugin already so I created my own very quickly last week-end.

Not sure it is suitable for publication though because I grabbed some material from VG website, especialy skipper images.

But anyway if someone is interested, the sources are available here:

I like your layout, but the advantage of @kbsali plugin is that it is in English. It is reachable to more people.

@idefix37 It is actually translated depending on browser headers but my browser was sending French as preferred language. (there is only english and french in the translations so far).

But as it is likely not aimed to be published, anyone can fork it or take some code from it if needed, it is an ephemeral project due to the nature of the event!

I wonder how, unlike the other competitors, Jean Le Cam, with a speed of 15.8 knots, covered 15.8 NM in half an hour.

Thanks for sharing your great plugins to track the vendee globe within windy, @kbsali and @seb12345.

If I remember correctly, the plugin 4 years ago had a weather routing feature - which I found really interesting and really improved the way I could follow the vendee globe. Is anything planned in this direction or does anyone know how you could get access to something similar?

@pandanade Not sure that is what you're after but on the Initiatives Coeur website (Sam Davies) you can click on the "Routages" button (top left) and it'll show routings for all the boats.
