@idefix37 @gkikas-lgpz hi, I find out when the radars do not have any data, caiyunapp do not display any picture and I will try to contact where the radar data came from.

BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) in Australia is very good, here is a link to the Melbourne area;
http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR022.loop.shtml#skip
It ranges from 64km radius to national (256km shown in link).
You can select to show roads, railways, rivers & lakes plus many more items.
Current screen shows it's raining a fair bit;

@rudy25
There are plenty of countries were you can find nice weather radar images. But Windy developers cannot use images.
They need free DATA and ask help to find how to get them.
May be the BOM supply these data free? -
Hello everyone, it is always a pleasure to be here with you.
So ... In Brazil, the National Institute of Meteorology through a department called CPTEC (Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies), provides accurate data from some stations.
http://servicos.cptec.inpe.br/XML/
Although some data is based on forecasts, I recommend only the data:- Situation in Airports Surface Stations
- Current UV conditions
They are simple but useful.
More data
Although the country has many pluviometric, hydrological, meteorological and radar stations, the data - although public - are made available in a simple, unformatted way.The National Center for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alarms (CEMADEN), per example, has a big map and in it, opens a new page and has an iframe. If you can pull this data from the table, you can get pluviometric and hydrological information from the country.
http://cemaden.gov.br/mapainterativo/Inmet - National Institute of Meteorology provides data from the main automatic stations, but requires authentication to access the data.
http://www.inmet.gov.br/portal/index.php?r=estacoes/estacoesautomaticasIf anyone can take advantage of these public data in any way, it's a full plate.
OGIMET has data from many terrestrial and free weather services. They gather a huge library. There is no XML format, Json, but you can enjoy it.
https://www.ogimet.com
Example: https://www.ogimet.com/cgi-bin/gsynres?ind=81957&decoded=yes&ndays=7My preference for weather forecast
I know we are talking here of observational data from stations. But let me talk about predictability.I live on the coast of a Brazilian state, but I am interested in the whole area of the Northeast, and I keep my eyes active in time. I love Windy and look for other data to complement my meteorological experiments, after all I'm a "weather reporter" in my region. I constantly look at the data and make observational comparisons on the top sites that make APIs available.
I've tried Climatempo and Meteoblue (this one does not have a free API) and so many others, but all of them largely fail in their data. The national meteorological service (INMET) is good but does not know how to interpret in detail. So if I could recommend a very accurate prediction data, based on ECMWF model, I would indicate the Meteored service (tempo.com, tiempo.com). They provide free APIs and are available in multiple languages and also have thorough scrutiny on absolutely everything. XML and Json are one of the key data available from Meteored. The link is here: https://www.tempo.com/api/
I do not know how Meteored processes the data, but one thing is certain: they always hit the forecast. If it is rain, it is rain, if it is cloudy, it is cloudy. In addition to keeping more than two daily updates.
It has direction of the winds, sunrise and sunset, moon, moon phases, and many other data.
If Windy inserted Meteored data into your maps and widgets would be a smart idea!
Hugs. Pleasure to collaborate,
Lucas Tolle

Hi for india

@mcgr1m3 You can freely access the BOM radar images here: ftp://ftp.bom.gov.au/anon/gen/radar/
However, this is the copyright statement:
All products available via the anonymous FTP service are subject to the default terms of the Bureau's copyright notice: you may download, use and copy that material for personal use, or use within your organisation but you may not supply that material to any other person or use it for any commercial purpose. Users intending to publish Bureau data should do so as Registered Users.I would say using the data on Windy would classify as "publishing". Here's where the fees to become a registered user are: http://www.bom.gov.au/other/charges.shtml
Here's a link to some sample data from the different radar packages (just match up the IDR number from the fees page: ftp://ftp.bom.gov.au/anon/sample/catalogue/Radar/
I'm not sure how much coverage of the country that is but there is also other options on that fees page.Volumetric radar user manual:
http://reg.bom.gov.au/catalogue/radar_data_2017.pdfLooks like the registered user costs are:
Service establishment: $1,025 (one-time)
FTP Access: $985 (per year)
1x radar package: $1,690.00 (per year)+$345 if you were to change your service.
I'd be so excited to see weather radar on windy! I hope the people at the BOM are watching this thread. :D

@andyhoofit yes, as its not for profit I imagine it should be free?

I think what you guys are doing is great. I don't know the answer to your question for Costa Rica (where I live) but here is the contact of the Costa Rican national weather service. Maybe once they understand what you are doing they can explain what they can do to help.

Hi, for Belarus there's the official website of Belgidromet with radar data http://meteoinfo.by/radar/?q=UMMN. It's free.

como puedo ayudar desde chile

Hi Guys - Amazing work on the site. I use it regularly for aviation here in New Zealand.
The MetService in NZ is a govt body which provides open access to various meteorological data including radar (on request):

For Romania, it seems that the data is free, but it's rather difficult to access because it has to be requested from each weather station and there are a lot. Also, the results are text-based, but I don't think it would be hard to use a website crawler to gather and index all the data. Unfortunately, there is no English version of the website.
