    ICON-D2: Why not use the full forecast time?

      No matter when you look at the model fields on the ICON-D2 (they appear every 3 hours), the data only goes up to the following day at 23 UTC.

      Even if you look in the evening. If you take the 18 UTC run here, the data should go up to the second following day 18 UTC, as ICON-D2 calculates 48 hours into the future.

      However, only a range up to the following day 23 UTC is displayed, i.e. only 29 hours in this example. So you lose more and more forecast time the later in the day you look at the forecasts.

        Hi @TornadoS, You are right, there is inconsistency in time slider for ICON-D2. As of now, reference time is 2024-11-11T06:00:00Z. This means, forecast should be until 2024-11-13T06:00:00Z, which it internally is.

        Timeline for map is shorter than it should be, while forecast in detail (bottom panel that appears after map is clicked) has correct length:
