Add Opacity Adjustment for Radar+ Layer
-
Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my thoughts on the Radar+ layer in the app. I think it’s an amazing feature that adds great value by giving precise, real-time weather visualization. However, there’s one small improvement that I believe could enhance its usability even further: an opacity adjustment.
Right now, I find that the fixed opacity of the Radar+ layer can make it a bit challenging to see when I want to view both the satellite and radar together. Having the ability to adjust the opacity would allow users to control the radar intensity to their preference, which would be awesome for exploring and combining different layers without losing detail.
If this option were added, I think many users, myself included, would use the Radar+ layer more frequently and comfortably. This adjustment would not only give us more flexibility but also improve the overall analysis and viewing experience.
What do you all think? Has anyone else felt that an opacity adjustment could be useful?
Thanks, and looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

@Valencia_WX HI, I will forward your suggestion to colleague who is responsible for this feature and it is possible that can be implemented in future.
To be sure that you use the layer correctly, do you know that you can completely turn the radar off to check satellite and vice versa?

@Suty Thats awesome!

@Suty Yes, I understand! Combining the radar and satellite layers to create a composite image could be an excellent and more visually appealing approach.
For instance, in this example, you can see the satellite layer, the radar layer, and then the concept applied with 20% opacity.
With reduced opacity, the satellite layer could provide better visibility of what's beneath. However, as I try it now, it’s not working quite as I envisioned.
